Granola, Oats, Raisins, and Peanuts 1 cup salted peanuts or dry roasted peanuts Mix in a Zip lock bag and eat on the trail.
Trail Peak Trail Mix--Philmont Training Center 1 cup Chex cereal, rice, corn, wheat or mixed Mix in a Zip lock bag and eat on the trail.
Mixed GORP 1 cup mixed nuts (or dry roasted mixed nuts) Mix in a large Zip lock bag and eat on the trail.

People Chow--Dave Corson, ONEPOT 1 pkg semi sweet morsels Melt semi sweet morsels, peanut butter and margarine over low heat. Stir in cereal until well coated. Mac GORP--Backpacker Magazine 1/2 cup mixed nuts Mix in a large Zip lock bag and eat on the trail.
Tom Brokaw's Granola GORP Backpacker Magazine 1 cup pitted dates, prunes, raisins or other dried fruit Snip fruit into small pieces and set aside. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a sauce pan, stir together honey and oil and heat to boil. Pour over dry ingredients, and mix. Spread onto two 10"x15" baking sheets. Bake 25 minutes at 325o F, stirring occasionally. Add fruit once the granola is cool.
GORP Balls--Helen Singh The Leader, April 1984 1/3 cup each raisins, apples, apricots, dates &
coconut. For the glue, use 1 cup chocolate chips, 1/3 cup honey and 1/2 cup peanut butter.

Basic Trail Mix Common Additions:

Mix 1 box Goldfish¨ crackers (your favorite flavor) 1 box of Teddy Grahams¨ (your favorite flavor) 1 can mixed nuts 1 big bag M&M¨ candies 1 box raisins or sweetened Dried cranberries Mix all ingredients in a large bowl with a big spoon. When mixed, use spoon to fill snack size baggies with trail mix. It usually makes about 12-15 bags. Keep in a cool dry place. They are easy to grab for that hike or bike ride, or a ride in the car or RV!
Protein Nutrition BarsThese low-fat bars are rich in fiber and taste great with a light spread of natural peanut butter across the top. 3 1/2 cups quick oats 1 1/2 cups powdered non-fat milk 4 scoops low carb chocolate or vanilla protein powder 1 cup sugar-free maple syrup 2 egg whites, beaten 1/4 cup orange juice 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 c. natural applesauce 1. Preheat over to 325 and spray a baking sheet or 9x12 baking dish with non-stick spray. The 9x12 baking dish will yield thicker bars. 2. Mix oats, powdered milk, and protein powder in bowl and blend well. 3. In separate bowl, combine egg whites, orange juice, applesauce, and the sugar-free syrup and blend well. 4. Stir liquid mixture into dry ingredients until blended. The consistency will be thick and similar to cookie dough. 5. Spread batter onto pan and bake until edges are crisp and browned. 6. Cut into 10 bars and store in airtight container or freeze. 7.
