Rotary
club is looking for volunteers to help set up and tear down the Winter
Wonderland.
We need to sign up as a group. Setup: October 24, 31 & November 7, 14 (8am till 3pm) Tear down: January 9, 16 |
Cubs will enjoy a sponge fight
at Fort Akela, get a chance to shoot Archery, BB Guns and wrist rockets at
CrockettÕs Glen as well as participate in games and other activities at the
Lost Ship, BALOOÕs Cave and the sports field. This is their first chance to
experience AkelaÕs World, have a great time and new Scouts will earn their
first camp patch. Arrival in camp for all these
eager Cub Scouts with parents, grandparents, leaders and siblings will be
9:00 am each morning. Then it is off for a program that will show them what
they can expect the following winter and summer when they come back to
AkelaÕs World for their Polar Cub and Summer Camp experience. Be prepared for
some hiking, running, shooting and all around fun. Lunch will be served for all in
the Mark Program Center, where the adults can pause and catch their
breath. Then it will be back outside with your Super Den Chief and on
with the fun until departure between 3:00 and 4:00 pm. Of course there
will be a Trading Post with Cub Scout Uniforms, patches, belts, hats, tee
shirts, supplies, souvenoirs, as well as candy, soda and water for sale
during the day. Not one Cub went home unhappy
last year, except for the ones that were sad because the day was so short,
and came to a close at the height of their fun. So, plan on having your Scouts
attend our Fall Cub Camp with their parent or Den Leader. This program
is one more example of why AkelaÕs World Cub Scout Camp is so well known and attended each
winter and summer. Samoset Council is known as the place ÒWhere Camping is
KingÓ. Come and see why. |
