Pack 388 Scout Gazette for October 2009

2 points for additional activities:

-   Participating in a district event (chuckwagon, scouting for food, camps, É)

-   Submitting an article to the newsletter (at any time during the year a scout can write an article and send it to Vince or Becky for publishing).  Only one submission per month accepted.

-   Answering moderate monthly challenges (those needing you to write a paragraph or article, but not requiring a great deal of research). If a suitable response is not given (not enough effort) then the scout will be awarded one point instead of two.  The ages of the scouts will be taken into consideration when reviewing these entries.

Den News:

Tiger (Robin Curtis) The Tigers met on September 22nd at Zion Lutheran Church.  The Scouts went outside and collected leaves to use for their leaf rubbing project.  They also began working on the requirements for their Bobcat Badge.  Welcome to a new Tiger Alex P.  The next meeting is Tuesday, October 13th, 6:30, Zion Lutheran Church.

Wolf (Robert Pilsner)  The Wolves met on October 6th at Zion Lutheran Church.  At the meeting the Wolves completed their achievements for the flag (2) and collecting (6), as well as practiced their song for the pack meeting.  Ben was awarded the Spirit Staff this meeting for participation and attention.  Good job Ben!

On October 18th the Wolves will be going on a wagon ride and fishing.  Meet at 12:00pm at Zion Lutheran Church and bring a dish to pass (and your fishing gear).

The next den meeting is the first Tuesday in November, 6:00pm @ Zion Lutheran Church.  Work on achievements 4, 7, and 9 at home and be ready to talk about them at the meeting.

Bear (Chuck Foley) The Bears met on September 30th at Klemme Reserve for a cook-out.  They enjoyed pigs in a blanket cooked over the open fire and the boys each made their own.  The boys went for a hike, discussed water safety, picked up trash, and made sÕmores.  A great time was had by all!
