Pack 388 Scout Gazette for 10/08

Did you know?

The pledge of allegiance to the American flag was written in 1892 as a poem for school children to recite once on Columbus Day.  It was never intended to be said more than once, but its popularity had children reciting it on every Columbus Day, then as time went on every day (or once a week) in schools across the country.

The original pledge went as follows.

ÒI pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands – one nation indivisible – with liberty and justice for all.Ó

Den News

Tiger Minutes

The Tigers got together in September to work on their Bobcat badge, and to make paper plate masks.  There were several very creative masks that I was able to see.  I think the Tigers have a favorite song as well.  When asked what they wanted to sing they all choose the Boom-Chicka song that Karen sang with the boys at the pack meeting.

At the next den meeting we will work on the scrapbooks (Achievement 1 Den), so please look at the book and bring the items needed for your scout.  The date will be set soon.
