Pinewood Derby Time

The pack pinewood derby will be on a Saturday this year instead of a Sunday.  This is due to a conflict in schedules.  The derby will be held at Stratford Elementary School Gymnasium.  On Friday night (8:00pm-9:00pm) you will be able to come in to weight up your car and make sure that it meets all of the requirements.  We are planning on having the weight in area open from 8:00am until the meeting starts (10:00am) on Saturday also.

On the webpage (under References) is the rules for your racecar.  The only additional rule is that the car can not be more than 7Ó tall.  We found this limitation to be needed last year, or the light bulbs on the track would have gotten broken.

This year we will have the following awards for the scouts.

  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd place
  • Peoples Choice (voted on by the audience)
  • Best Design, Funniest (voted on by the scouts)
  • Most Effort (voted on by the leaders)

There is an open class (scouts can enter a second car, but are not eligible to win a trophy) for the adults and siblings.

The derby is also a pot luck.  Please bring a cold dish (hot dishes provided already).

This is the last meeting to earn pack points before the Blue & Gold.

Bowling Party

I seem to be missing some fun events.  Even though I did not make it, the following scouts did, along with about 8 siblings:

Reed

Cameron

Eli

Kolton

Christopher D

Trever

Samuel

Christopher Z

Sawyer

Charles

These scouts earned their Bowling belt loops, and had a lot of fun.
