Sorry, I fell asleep there. Why canŐt standard definitions be meaningful, clear, and not so É well you know. Lets see if I can liven it up a little.
Character is defined as how a person believes, and how they act on those beliefs / values. Character development is how the beliefs / values are learned and applied.
Ok, that was not much shorter; but hopefully it is clearer and not so hum-drum.
There are many beliefs / values that each person has, and any one can help to build the others. Cub Scouting is intended to focus on twelve in particular.
Think about what these mean, and how we portray them in our everyday life. I know that I will be working on them, and specifically #9 – Positive Attitude. By increasing oneŐs own attitude think of what you can accomplish just for yourself, much less leading others. By having a positive attitude you can directly effect all of the other beliefs / values in the list. That is a lot of power in one little belief.
Looking Forward! What is coming up in the future months? Glad you asked!
Closing! Thank you all once again for getting Scouting off to a great start again this year. With that I would like to leave you with the Cub Scout Promise.
I promise to do my best, To do my duty to God and my country, To help other people, and To obey the Law of the Pack
If you have any questions, feel free to contact myself, or any of the adult leaders. Separately we are strong; together we can perform miracles.
